Overview

The Path of Samekh is known as the "Path of Alchemy". It produces an optimistic outlook towards life, confidence to overcome all obstacles and difficulties, and is regarded as the path of new beginnings and new initiatives.

Position in the Tree of Life

Samekh connects the sephirots, or spheres, of Tiphereth and Yesod in the Hebrew Tree of Life. Tiphereth occupies the 6th position in the Tree of Life and is associated with Beauty, representing our inner self - our soul - revealing the inner meaning of our lives, our purpose, our ideals and objectives. In Jewish tradition, Tiphereth is ruled over by the Guardian angel Raphael. Yesod occupies the 9th position in the Tree of Life and it is the sphere that is associated with foundation, representing the collective soul of mankind, and providing insight into our life patterns. In Jewish tradition, Yesod is ruled over by the archangel Gabriel.

Personality Type

People on the Path of Samekh tend to be very optimistic and confident, possessing a zest for life, a desire to live life to its fullest, and courage in the face of challenges or threats. Those on this path also tend to be spontaneous by nature, and their happy-go-lucky- nature and quick wit can inspire cheer in others, but can also make them come across as frivolous, impatient, and short-tempered. Samekh people tend to be sharp thinkers, with clear and analytical minds, who are passionate about and focused on their goals and who possess a strong-will in their desire to achieve these goals.
