Yes, most likely related. It will be helpful going forward to explore the emotions you feel about this major change in your family relationships—during the daytime! If you’re in therapy, explore it there. If not, or not able to have a therapist at present, talk to a close friend about what you’re feeling. It’s not so much to try and solve anything, but rather to be witnessed, to allow you’re feeling expression consciously. This should help relieve the panicky dream experience. Let me know how it goes.
