My 2.5 year old has started slapping us occasionally, the teachers said this is normal and it’s just him trying to deal with his big feelings. He’s a happy little guy, full of joy & adventure but since he started nursery, he’s picking up habits! Any one else went through this???

Thank you Riley 🙏💗 it’s tough but we try to stay calm gently redirect him whilst reminding him to use his words… I have these faces and the respective feelings on them. We go through them together to try to help him identify what he’s feeling 💕

Gentle redirection, modeling calm responses, and helping him put his feelings into words can really help over time. You’re doing a great job guiding him through this stage!
