A Beautiful Thought from My Guru, K. N. Rao My respected Guru Shri K. N. Rao once wrote a very beautiful explanation about a question that has troubled humanity for thousands of years: Is our life already destined, or are we the creators of our own life? Our ancient scriptures suggest that some events in life may already be part of a cosmic order. In the Mahabharata, Lord Krishna tells Arjuna that the destruction of the Kauravas has already been decided - Arjuna will simply become the instrument. But this does not mean that human beings have no freedom. My Guru gives a very simple and powerful example. Imagine a cow tied to a peg with a rope. The cow is not completely free, but within the length of the rope it can move wherever it wants. Human life works in the same way. Some things may already be fixed - such as birth, family, and certain key events. But within those boundaries, our choices, effort, and actions shape the direction of our lives. That is why astrology is not just about predicting fate. It is a tool to understand life’s possibilities and responsibilities. This is why our tradition says: “Karma is the foundation on which the world operates.” Destiny may set the stage, but our actions decide how the story unfolds.

On March 3, 2026, a Lunar Eclipse will occur. The timing will vary depending on your country. In Vedic tradition, an eclipse is considered a spiritually powerful window. Meditation, mantra chanting, and silent reflection during this period are believed to give multiplied results. A cleansing bath at the beginning and end of the eclipse is traditionally advised. The final phase is considered especially beneficial for ancestor prayers and inner purification. This eclipse occurs in Purva Phalguni Nakshatra, ruled by Venus, and in Leo. Since Purva Phalguni relates to creativity, luxury, relationships, and artistic expression, those connected with creative or glamour fields should remain emotionally balanced. Because it falls in Leo, individuals with strong Leo influence should take extra care of health and vitality. As the eclipse occurs on Tuesday (ruled by Mars), it is wise to avoid impulsive actions, aggression, or fire-related risks. Purva Phalguni corresponds to the South-East energy zone, which represents fire and Venus-related themes. This does not mean that only the South-East geographical region of a country will face issues. Rather, it indicates activation of South-East type energies such as fire incidents, heat, aggression, luxury sectors, or creative industries particularly in regions where the eclipse is visible.
Today I want to share something very personal. A dear neighbor of mine, someone very close to my heart, was suffering from a serious illness for a long time. In his final days, he was completely on bed rest. For the last three days, he stopped eating and speaking. He remained silent, calm, and detached. Everyone around him felt that his final time was near. During that quiet and sacred moment, I was given the opportunity to sit beside him and recite the 8th Chapter of the Bhagavad Gita. As I gently chanted the verses, the room felt peaceful and still. Soon after listening to it, he left his body peacefully. For me, the 8th Chapter of the Gita became more than just scripture it became a reminder that the soul is eternal and that the final moments of life can be filled with awareness and divine connection. This experience deeply touched my heart. It reminded me that at the end of life, peace and spiritual presence matter more than anything else. May we all remember the importance of spiritual strength in both life and death. 🙏
Basant Panchami A Day to Awaken Wisdom & Creativity Basant Panchami is dedicated to Devi Saraswati, the divine source of knowledge, music, art, and wisdom. On this sacred day, traditional worship is performed with Chandana (sandal), Dhupa (incense), Deepa (lamp), and Naivedya (offering), while beautiful prayers are recited: “O Devi, just as Lord Brahma never leaves you in Brahmaloka, may you never leave me. Bless me with your grace.” “Just as the Vedas, Shastras, music, dance, and all arts cannot exist without you, in the same way, may my life never be without your presence.” “O Saraswati, protect me with your eight divine forms: Lakshmi, Medha, Dhara, Pushti, Gauri, Tushti, Prabha, and Mati.” On this day, Goddess Gayatri-who holds the Veena, book, rosary, and sacred water pot—is honored. Offering daan (charity) of rice, milk, ghee, gold, and food to a learned person is considered highly auspicious. It is said that those who observe this Vrata with devotion and humility are blessed with intelligence, charm, clarity of mind, and spiritual growth, and are guided toward higher realms of wisdom.
