As with my original post I will preface this by saying I don’t feel qualified to give guidance! But I will say in my own research and journey so far, what I’ve learned from posts from other witches (of all religions!) is that Witchcraft isn’t something you are naturally, it’s a practice. If you practice witchcraft, than you are a witch. A witch can be a Christian, a scientist, an Atheist, but if you practice witchcraft you are a witch.

To add to that, some witches choose to call themselves something else. Some Christian Witches prefer the term Mystics (hence the name of this circle) which is the most common alternative term I’ve seen.

One more addition (sorry I’ll try not to ramble more!), some witches also feel a natural call to certain parts of the practice, which is where you’ll hear terms like “Kitchen witch” or “Green Witch”. Witches can do any practice but some find they just work better in certain areas. There are also some witches that have family ties to witchcraft. But in the end, if you practice witchcraft you can be and are a witch, and whether you call yourself a witch or something different is up to you.
Ramble away! This is very interesting. It’s actually brought up more questions which I’ll post in the circle for others who may also like to learn more about it but are too shy to ask 🧙♀️☺️
