How do we sit with pain when alls we want to do is escape it?
Honestly, still trying to figure that out. I have a hard time with this. Even if I don’t try to numb the discomfort, my mind will just “leave” on its own and dissociate or shut down. Yesterday was a difficult day and I kept reminding myself “all you need to do is exist right now”. It’s a work in progress. One thing I’ve tried is to put 2 minutes on a timer and try to sit with the pain, or the unbearable feeling of grayness and restless boredom I often feel. Now I have started increasing the time. I’m up to 5 minutes. Hope this helps! 💜
