Mediocrity is comfortable. That's why most people stay there. It doesn't demand much. It doesn't require sacrifice. It doesn't ask you to be uncomfortable. You can coast. You can blend in. You can show up and do just enough. And no one will call you out for it. Excellence is lonely. It requires you to do more than everyone else. To hold yourself to a higher standard. To keep going when everyone else has stopped. And most people aren't willing to do that. They'd rather be average and comfortable than excellent and isolated. But if you want something different, you have to be willing to be different. You have to be okay with standing alone. With being misunderstood. With being the only one who cares this much. That's the cost. And if you're not willing to pay it, don't complain about the results.
