We think that the more options we have, the more freedom we get: You assume the "perfect" option must exist. So you start choosing. After you choose, your mind keeps running: What if I'd picked differently? After that, every other alternative turns into an imagined loss. Instead of freedom, you get anxiety, regret, maybe quiet fear. Welcome to the paradox of choice. We confuse endless options with wisdom. We learned early that worth is relative. Someone is always ahead, so being "good" never feels enough. And the sad part is that, even if you don't feel it, you stop asking, Am I fulfilled? and start asking, How do I compare? So nothing ever feels final. It ends with the need to always choose. Sometimes the bravest choice isn't choosing better. It's choosing without comparison. Because with many choices, choices arise.
