My first month at the new place I moved to took a toll on my routines, structures, and habits. I was not chanting daily the way I normally would for the past year. I missed the invigorating freshness and motivation with which I would start my day! As I was designing my room, figuring out what new interior pieces to buy, I envisioned myself sitting on a cozy low stool to chant up to my gohonzon. I invested in a cute ottoman like stool to sit on while chanting, and it felt like the perfect seat! Slowly, my focus has improved. I am now chanting with a refreshed spirit and deeper presence and more consistency. Disruptions like moving or a new, intense relationship can throw us off, but when we eventually get back into the flow, the energy is amazing! Do you have separate prayer space in your house?
