suddenly, "table for one" is not so scary anymore. it feels quiet, but not empty. i don't rush to fill the space or check my phone just to avoid the silence. i sit, i breathe, i take my time. i notice the little things, like the taste of my food or the way the room sounds around me. i realize i don't need company to feel complete. being alone is no longer something i run from, but something i can hold with ease. and maybe this is what healing looks like, choosing myself without feeling like i lost anything at all.
