At some stage in life, you have to understand that your emotions are solely your responsibility. Learn to sit with your own thunder instead of throwing it at every open window. It feels relieving to empty your heart into someone else's hands, but sometimes you are only teaching your mind to circle the same dark drain again and again. Not everyone you love is built to carry your heaviness on a random tuesday evening, they have their own quiet battles, their own storms stitched behind their ribs and there will not always be people available when the wave hits. Not every call will be answered. Not every friend will have the capacity. Not every season of your life will come with a listener sitting beside you. What will you do then, when the silence is the only thing in the room? Venting can become a habit, and habits can quietly turn into identity, and suddenly pain is the only language spoken fluently. You've to realize that no one is coming to drag you out of the pit you dig on your worst days, no one is responsible for rescuing you from thoughts you keep feeding. So share your pain, speak your thoughts, but don't expect people to carry the weight for you every time, or you'll only learn how heavy disappointment can be.
Others want to hear from you, so why not share your thoughts ☁️
