I discovered the “Sufi Grind” today and it felt incredibly nourishing. 💜 It’s a gentle somatic yoga movement where you slowly rotate your body in circles while breathing deeply. Something about the rhythm of it felt grounding and strangely emotional in a good way — like my body was finally being listened to instead of ignored. I think a lot of trauma survivors become disconnected from their bodies. I know I did. Dissociation helped me mentally survive experiences that felt unbearable at the time. I learned how to leave my body because staying fully present inside it hurt too much. Now I’m slowly learning how to come back. Not through force. Not through punishment. But through curiosity, movement, breath, safety, softness, and listening. It’s honestly emotional to realize your body has been carrying you this whole time. ☯️🧘🏻♀️🌿
