There are moments when I look at you and honestly can't understand how anyone before me could have let you go without realizing what they had. It doesn't make sense how they didn't notice the depth in your heart, the calm strength you carry, or the way your presence feels like something steady in a world that's always changing. You're the kind of person people don't fully understand at first, but once they do, it stays with them and somehow, they still walked away. But the more I think about it, the more that confusion turns into gratitude. I'm grateful they didn't stay long enough to truly see you, that they didn't take the time to understand every layer that makes you who you are.
