When we are in pain, we often try to distract ourselves. Running away from what hurts seems like the most ideal exit, the one way to stop every feeling from breaking down on you. But you can't outrun what you feel-it will remain under layers of emotions and speak up when it's the wrong time. It'll project unexpectedly on your friends and family, it'll be the reason you wake up in a bad mood, it'll cause you to be distracted when you're doing what you love. Feelings linger in our minds, unless we address them—unless we ask ourselves why we're reacting the way we are? It is a way of tracing emotions back to behaviors and holding people accountable for how they treat you. It is a way of knowing yourself better and setting boundaries, so that you don't carry the pain of not knowing why you're feeling a certain way-cause sometimes, that pain is far greater.
Others want to hear from you, so why not share your thoughts ☁️
