From my experience, it is obviously better to be healthier with yourself. Relationship is a combination of both you and your partner, all of it. And even the slightest unhealthy thing will come to surface sooner or later in this dialogue of two people. And in that dialogue the unhealthy will affect both of you in some way or another (as if you were one). But I don't think you MUST be all perfectly good and healthy to enter a relationship. It heavily depends on the situation and context. Both of you can have problems and help each other out, learn from one another, be there for each other, grow and figure out a way out together. The main key is communication.
So yes, self-care is very important in every relationship, don't forget you are part of the equation too. But don't ruin yourself over it, and know that a good partner will listen, understand and communicate their needs.
Hope it helped at least in some way 😅
