But how do we relax, that’s the question for me. I struggle with letting go and relaxing 😌
That’s a good question. It’s not as simple as “you’re safe now, you can relax.” You have to retrain your whole nervous system to trust again. Through small actions — slowing your breathing, noticing when your body is tense and gently releasing it, spending time in calm environments, connecting with safe people, and practicing grounding when anxiety rises.
Over time, these small signals teach your nervous system a new message: the danger is not here right now.
It’s a gradual process. But the body can learn safety again. 💜
