Hello Taylor, I hope you are fine as per my knowledge In Vedic astrology, Saturn (Shani) is known as the planet of discipline, karma, maturity, and time. It takes approximately 30 years to complete one full cycle through all 12 zodiac signs. This moment—when Saturn returns to the exact position it held at your birth—is called a Saturn Return, and it typically occurs around the ages of 29–30, 58–60, and 87–89.
The first Saturn Return (around 30) often marks a major life transition: people take on serious responsibilities, face career or relationship changes, or begin questioning their deeper purpose. It’s a time of growing up—Saturn demands accountability and rewards those who put in sincere effort.
The second Saturn Return (around 60) is even more significant. It marks the completion of two full Saturn cycles, and in classical Vedic tradition, this milestone is called Shashtipoorti, which literally means "completion of 60 years." It’s seen as a spiritual checkpoint. In South India, this age is celebrated with traditional rituals and pujas, especially for women, as it symbolizes moving into a wiser, more reflective phase of life.
I’ve personally seen in many birth charts that around the age of 60, people experience major life shifts—some embrace spiritual paths, while others face deep inner transformations. In some cases, it’s also a time when people naturally begin to detach from worldly roles or responsibilities.
