Time is the greatest gift If we can gift our little ones with anything, then let's gift them with our time, making memories in the garden, and singing nursery rhymes, playing in the park, as you push them on the swings, for this is what they'll remember, not gifts or material things. Building a jigsaw puzzle, teaching them how to bake, they won't remember how much it cost, but all the time it took to make, melting marshmallows around the bonfire, as the fireworks light the sky, hugging them all better, wiping the tears away as they cry. Playing skittles in the river and splashing in the mud, these are the things they'll remember when they think of their childhood. They won't think of the objects, or the expensive presents that you bought, but the time spent with their loved ones and the lessons they were taught, so if you can give your time, just know you're doing your best, for all they need is your love and affection, nothing more and nothing less.
