Hi Mikaela, I can relate. I think many people can! I remember a therapist friend of mine said ‘people today, jump straight into bed wi the someone to avoid the awkward bit before, but it’s the awkward getting to know you part that actually helps create the relationships!’… that’s always stuck with me. I won’t do on line apps, as they’re not for me & have not really heard many success stories from friends. But I’ve always met people in random places, eg the electrician who came to fix something for me, or a stranger I started a random conversation with in a coffee shop, or a tall man who I asked to teach something for me in a supermarket and then we got talking. I’m a firm believer in joining groups that interest you (eg dancing, walking groups, pottery etc.) the more you do the things that represent who you are, the more likely you are to meet someone else who appreciates those things and you too ☺️
