Tiny baby Born too soon, too small Still so long until your due date If only you'd been able to wait, Arrive on time, maybe even late For now, the hospital is our home, Beeping machines all night long, So tiny, perhaps, but what strength you've shown To soon, too small, but oh so strong Dreaming of the day we get to bring you home, • To fasten you in your car seat, take you back to where you belong. Amongst the wires and tubes I will find the glimmers, Like these cuddles so tiny, so close to my chest For I know all too well, That just now you're too soon, to small, But a day will come, That you'll be walking out the door, Too fast and too tall.
