Understand that I've been through too much alone. In the times I had been struggling, I still held space for those who needed me. And I wouldn't take that back for anything. But because I had opened my arms, I had unconsciously created an open invitation for energy leeches who tried taking advantage of my emotional generosity. Going through hell and back with insincere people in your orbit changes you. You soon realize the true meaning of loneliness. However, despite this, a corner of your soul that is even more empathetic is born as the rose-colored glasses shatter across the floor. Moving on from the wrong people becomes effortless. Boundaries become a necessity. I would say I'm still the same person, just acquainted with life experience. But I found out in the end who really cared and who didn't. And this freedom I now have is priceless.
