Being at home in India has been so lovely. There have been moments where it has felt so “right” and extremely joyous to spend time with my family, walk in my favorite neighborhood forest and eat my favorite food. But does that mean that I now want to live here or don’t love my life in the US as much? Not at all. It means that I am headed towards an integration: I do not have to hate or dislike my time in India to love living in the U.S. They can both hold a special place in my heart for different reasons. Do you hold 2 identities or see 2 places as “home” simultaneously? How do you process that experience, and do you ever feel like you have to hate one to love the other?
