To feel is a privilege. There was a time I believed numbing my emotions would make life easier, but it didn't. The truth is, we cannot choose what we wish to feel. To feel joy is to also feel sorrow. To feel love is to also feel loss. To feel gratitude is to also feel hopelessness. To feel inspiration is to also feel stagnation. To feel peace is to also know chaos. To feel compassion is to also witness cruelty. This is what it means to be human. Life moves through us as much as we move through it. We cannot tiptoe our way out of discomfort or play it safe to avoid pain. As long as we are the main character of our lives, not just passive observers, we will inevitably meet rock bottom. We will inevitably face the worst. Running from it changes nothing, for it will always catch up to us. So we might as well turn towards it, face it, and live fully through it. That is what makes life precious. That is what grounds us. That is what keeps humanity alive. Yet some try to escape their own humanity, and the world is now bearing witness to the consequences of that refusal. So I make this promise to myself and to the world: I will choose to feel, even when the pain shatters me bone by bone. And when it does, I will still allow the warmth and softness of life to seep into every broken piece, multiplying and spreading it as far as my reach allows.
Let's celebrate life's little blessings together. A space to share what you're thankful for and cultivate a habit of gratitude. Inspire others and be inspired by the power of appreciation.
