At first, they act like they're saving you. Saying all the right things, doing everything right. They make you feel safe, protected, understood - like they're different from everyone else. You start believing maybe this time it's real, maybe this person actually cares. They listen to your pain, your fears, everything you've been through - and you trust them completely. But slowly, they start doing the same things they once saved you from. You realize they weren't protecting you; they were studying how much you can tolerate. They weren't saving you from others; they were studying how to break you better. They saw how patient you were, how forgiving - and used it to their advantage. They didn't want to love you; they wanted to on the version of you that never fights back. And by the time you see it, you're too tired to explain how they broke you while pretending to fix you.
Let's celebrate life's little blessings together. A space to share what you're thankful for and cultivate a habit of gratitude. Inspire others and be inspired by the power of appreciation.
