Lately, when someone says, "You look happier" I smile, because it's true. I've stopped treating myself like a project that needs fixing. I've put down the heavy books that promised to teach me how to heal, and instead, l've started doing the tiny things that make life soft again. I play music simply because it sounds good. I watch old comfort shows, not for growth, but for the warmth they bring. I walk with no destination, letting the sky guide me. I buy flowers just because they're lovely. I let myself savor little treats without needing to justify them. I call people who make me laugh, not those who weigh me down. I sit in cafes just to watch the world drift by. I found some little cats to keep me company, and feeding them brings a quiet happiness. Just seeing them eat, small and soft, makes the day feel lighter, like a gentle warmth that doesn't need a reason. I'm grateful that I'm surrounded with lovely people, And in all this quiet simplicity, l've discovered something beautiful, joy doesn't wait for perfection, it arrives when we stop trying to constantly upgrade our lives and instead allow ourselves to truly live every once in a while. when curiosity leads our steps and effort fuels our dreams, even the smallest moments hold meaning, reminding us that it is possible to strive and to rest, to hope and to feel, to be fully alive as human beings.
