Who said I'm not important to me? Who said I'm not important to me? I spent years showing up for other people, but somewhere along the way I learned that I deserve that same loyalty from myself. My feelings matter. My peace matters. My dreams matter. My well-being matters. I am not an afterthought in my own life. For too long, I measured my value by how much I could give, how much I could tolerate, and how much I could carry. These days, I see things differently. I don't need to earn the right to care about myself. I don't need permission to make myself a priority. The people who truly love me will never require me to neglect myself to prove my love for them. So no, I won't apologize for choosing myself. I won't feel guilty for protecting my peace or honoring my needs. I have spent enough time making room for everyone else. Who said I'm not important to me? Because from where I stand now, I finally understand that I am one of the most important people in my life.
