I always thought adulting meant being mature, patient, calm while people try to provoke you. Turns out that idea is mostly a well packaged lie. Adulting is being savage, being vocal about your views, yourself, and letting people decide. It's saying what you mean without babysitting how it lands. It's about having standards and actually meeting them yourself. Adulting isn't tolerance, it's filtering out people who demand you tolerate nonsense. I don't hold grudges, I tell peopl exactly what they did, to their faces. If they can't deal with honesty, I'm not dying to keep them around. So now that you get the real version of me, let's see how everyone else handles it. If they can't figure out adulting without emotional hand holding, that's not my problem. I graduated from explaining basic accountability a long time ago.
