We were born in the eighties & nineties, the generation in-between, before technology took over, before we were all glued to a screen. We were playful and mischievous, yet respectful all the same, we'd play outside from noon till dusk, regardless of the rain. We watched videotapes on the VCR, a few cartoons played on the TV, a trip to a theme park, or an expensive day out was considered a luxury. We rarely ate out for dinner, a McDonald's was a birthday treat, and if an elderly person got on the bus we always gave up our seat. Our Halloween costumes were homemade, a black bin bag for a cloak, if we did this to the kids today, I'm sure they'd think it was a joke. Birthday parties were thrown at home, pass the parcel and musical chairs, and the rush we'd feel when the music stopped, well, nothing else compares. We knew playtime was over when the sun came in to set, an upbringing that shaped our lives, and times we won't forget. We were born in the eighties & nineties, and we were as happy as can be, I wish it was the same for our children today, because it was always enough for me.
