Every now and then I look at you and can't wrap my head around how anyone before me managed to walk away without realizing what they had. It's hard to understand how they didn't notice the depth in your soul, the quiet kindness in your heart, or the way you carry something so rare it feels like an entire universe hidden beneath the surface. At first it confuses me, but the more I think about it, the more that confusion turns into gratitude. I'm grateful they didn't look closely enough, that they didn't stay long enough to truly understand you, because if they had seen all the things I see now, if they had recognized every beautiful piece that makes you who you are, then maybe I wouldn't have this chance. And honestly, I can't imagine not having the opportunity to love you the way I do, because this kind of love is something I would choose over and over again without hesitation.
