At this point in my life, I would genuinely prefer someone to leave before they try to manipulate or fool me. Fust go your way, kindly, quietly, no performance needed. Because I'm done, completely done with loving people wholeheartedly only to be treated like an opportunity. Like, "oh this can be used to my advantage," as if that's something to be proud of. I've already given up on expecting goodness and genuine honesty from everyone. Now all I expect is a little integrity and some basic morals, at least for their own sake. If they can't be good to others, they should at least try being decent to themselves. Because this habit of manipulating people and expecting them to stay clueless is just embarrassing: They think they're clever, but if they had any real awareness, they'd know better. It harms them more in the long run, because people eventually figure it out and walk away. So I'd rather they leave early and save everyone the unnecessary drama.
