I've had to learn to be selective with my energy and distance myself from situations and environments that drain me. But this doesn't mean I am actively avoiding anything that disrupts my peace. Life won't always be sunshine and daisies. I am prepared to pick up the pieces as many times as it is needed and help others get back on their feet. However, my discernment has guided me away from people whose purpose is to steer me from mine. I am a believer in keeping one's circle tight. I pour into the cups of those I love. I will never turn my back on the souls who were always there when I needed help. But I have experienced too much betrayal to remain in spaces that are disingenuous. I have grown too much to sit at tables that are detrimental to my healing. I am protecting my positive nature with everything I am.
