The truth is, we don't know how many blessings we've had in the form of heartache and losses. We don't know who had to break us for us to learn to cherish our hearts, who had to push us down for us to gain the strength to get back up on our own and who had to leave us behind for us to recognise that this journey is ours and we're most powerful when we take it alone. 'We all play a part in giving each otber invaluable lessons? The truth is, we don't know how many people became the teachings in our lives that allowed us to become more courageous and wiser. We don't know which were the falls we took that grounded us and which were pushes that led us to where we are today. We must appreciate—in the subtlest sense—each person who has stayed or gone, even those who bring up tears at the back of our eyes when we remember our time with them. Even those who cause our throats to become thick with hurt. Even those who cause a bubble of anger to rise in our chest. Even those whom we don't want to think about because our ache is too raw. Because we don't know how many of them were cloaked angels that gave us the biggest wins in the form of rejections. We don't know how many of them were good spirits disguised as imperfect, tarnished humans who had to wound us, leave us behind and let us go in order for us to embrace ourselves and keep heading towards the life that was always meant for us.
