Love the question Sophia B. Short answer is yes, but so much more involved here. A more deeply connected sleep provides a more vibrant wake life, provides a more deeply connected sleep :)
Separation is only an illusion.
But how do we achieve a more deeply connected sleep?

All that i described earlier in setting up a sacred sleep bedroom. Creating an altar (a few deity pics or objects that when you enter and see them you are reminded this is a sacred place. Some incense and /or candle that creates the atmosphere for revering the practice you re about to enter. A meditation cushion or space (even in bed) where you can meditate , deep breathe, do some centering practice, relieving the days stressors and keeping them out of the bedroom. This all involves setting a sacred state-whether you do that with prayer, medication, Tibetan bowls, etc-your own tradition whatever that may be has practices that honor and prepare for a nightly connection with Spirit. I teach an entire course that takes you step by step into the process, dealing with impediments that arise from time to time and how to over come them. Waking life as it is lived is encouraged to raise ones awareness that then continues into the nocturnal hours. Their are also specific nocturnal meditations that further guide and deepen ones practice in the sleep state. Initially there is lucid awareness that one is dreaming while in the dream state, and then this awareness is expanded through deeper practices. It is an entire process that may take a lifetime to excel but the rewards are great!
I'm sorry if this seems like way more than you were asking but it's like a separate yoga path (see the Six Yogas of Naropa ) that is taught to mature students, though it is accessible to everyone.
