Intense and Passionate
Symbolized by the scorpion, Scorpios are extremely intense and passionate. Scorpios want to experience everything that life has to offer. Their feelings are what drives them and strengthens them, but their emotions can also scare them and make them feel vulnerable and out of control. Because of this conflict, Scorpios, like their namesake, the scorpion, can put up an outer shell. This can give people the impression that a Scorpio is brusque and uncaring, but underneath that shell, they are actually very emotional and intense.

While a Scorpio’s "hard shell" can make them seem intimidating and somewhat closed off to those who don't know them well, they are actually very in tune with their emotions. Scorpios are actually very emotionally intelligent, and can read a room very quickly and can clue into how everyone else is feeling. Because of this, they can immediately tune into someone’s needs, and often know the right thing to say or do to change the mood or tenor of a room when it needs to be changed.

Scorpios are fearless. They love challenges, aren't afraid of controversy, and won't back down from a debate. They are fiercely independent, unafraid to blaze their own trail, and always seem to make a statement wherever they go. Their fearless independence is paired with a passion for authenticity - Scorpios always seek to be genuine, honest, and authentic, and usually cannot abide people who do not share these traits.
Forthright and Honest
A Scorpio’s genuineness applies to how they view the truth and communications with others. So many other signs spend valuable time and energy beating around the bush, desperately trying to find an approach that makes the fewest waves when it comes to confronting a conflict. Not Scorpio. Blessed with a deep sense of self, Scorpio is always able to say exactly what's on their mind, even if it's not what people want to hear. Scorpio is forthright and honest, and those two characteristics tend to earn them respect both at home and at work.

Once people are able to get beyond the outer shell of a Scorpio, they can find a loyal, loving person whose passion knows no bounds.
