Nun (The Path of Intimacy)

Overview

The Path of Nun is known as the "Path of Intimacy". It is a road of transformation and renewal that involves change and all of the things that come with change - including growth as well as struggle. Followers of this path must embrace impermanence and learn to work with others to find some kind of higher purpose.

Position in the Tree of Life

Nun connects the sephirots, or spheres, of Tiphereth and Netzach in the Hebrew Tree of Life. Tiphereth occupies the 6th position in the Tree of Life and is associated with Beauty, representing our inner self - our soul - revealing the inner meaning of our lives, our purpose, our ideals and objectives. In Jewish tradition, Tiphereth is ruled over by the Guardian angel Raphael. Netzach occupies the 7th position in the Tree of Life and it is the sphere that is associated with victory, representing our inner feelings, our emotions and our sentiments, and revealing our innermost desires, needs and requirements. In Jewish tradition this sphere is ruled over by the Guardian angel Haniel.

Personality Type

Those on the Path of Nun are often described as "mysterious", as there are many nuances to their character. They tend to have a strong will and a sharp mind, and to be straightforward and methodical. Yet at the same time, while they tend to be in touch with their feelings and to have good intuition regarding the feelings of others, they may have trouble sharing their feelings, and may feel vulnerable about how others perceive them. This can make it hard for Nun people to trust others, can make them private and secretive, and can even make them come across as jealous or aggressive. While they can be somewhat enigmatic, people on the path of Nun tend to have a deep appreciation for learning, and keen intuition, instincts, and feelings.
