In Western Christianity, The Transfiguration of the Lord, which commemorates the day that Jesus and three of his apostles - Peter, James, and John - went to a mountain to pray, celebrates the story of how while on the mountain Jesus was transfigured and began to shine with bright rays of light and was visited by the prophets Moses and Elijah.
