- In Buddhist tradition, the Buddha was born, was enlightened, delivered his first sermon, and passed away on a Full Moon.
- In Jewish tradition, Passover falls on the night of a Full Moon after the northern vernal equinox.
- In Hindu tradition, the Full Moon is called "purnima" and represents abundance, fullness, and generosity, and is seen as an auspicious time to initiate and accomplish meaningful activities and to commemorate important occassions.
