In Judaism, Shabbat Mevarchim, also known as Shabbat Mevorchim, is any Shabbat that precedes and begins the week during which there will be a day or days of a new Hebrew month (Rosh Chodesh).
Traditionally, on this day, during the synagogue service a special blessing for the new month is recited, and the timing of the new Hebrew month is announced.
