In Mysticism, art and symbolism are seen as tools that can help you become closer to the divine.

Symbols, mathematics, and science are seen as fingerprints of the Creator on creation that can be used to help humans "retrace" the steps of creation from the material world of "Physis" (Φύσις) back to the universal consciousness of the Creator.

Below are some of the most popular symbols from Mysticism's alchemy practice that have historically been used for such purposes, which you can try drawing or doodling to help yourself foster a more spiritual mindset.

The Philosopher's Stone. This symbol is used a metaphor for a person's spiritual journey to enlightenment and bliss. The individual (the inner circle) journeys through the material world (composed of the four elements of earth/fire/air/water, represented by a square) to master their "Physis" (body), "Psyche" (soul), and "Nous" (mind) - the three represented by a triangle - to ultimately achieve unity with the One Creator (represented by the large circle or "Monad").

The Earth symbol. This is represented by a downward-point triangle bisected by a horizontal line. This symbol represents one of the four symbolic elements that constitute the material world.

The Fire symbol. This is represented by an upward-pointing triangle.

The Air symbol. This is represented by an upward triangle bisected by a horizontal line.

The Water symbol. This is represented by a downward-pointing triangle.
