Dhikr meditation involves repeating a short phrase from the Quran to glorify or give thanks to God. Phrases are normally repeated in a four-beat pattern, and in a way that is in rhythym with your own breath or your heartbeat.

The most common phrases used are "La ilaha illa Allah" ("There is no god but God"), "Alhamdulillah" ("Praise be to God"), and "Allahu Akbar" ("God is Greatest").

To do this meditation, try to repeat one of these phrases in rhythym with your own breath, up to 99 times.
