Alternate nostril breathing, known in Sanskrit as "Anulom Vilom" is a form of "Pranayama" or controlled breathing. This breath meditation technique is known to improve the respiratory system and to create balance and calm the mind.
To do it, inhale through your left nostril while closing your right nostril, then exhale through your right nostril while closing your left. Repeat on the other side, beginning by inhaling through your right nostril while closing your left.
