A Sun Salutation or "Surya Namaskar" is a short series of yoga poses that is meant to invigorate the body and balance the three primary doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha). Here's how to do it:

* First, stand with your feet together. Breathe in while lifting both arms up from the sides.

* Exhale, bringing your palms together in front of the chest in a Prayer (Pranamasana) pose.

* Inhale, lifting your arms up and back into "Raised Arms" (Hastauttanasana) pose.

* Exhale, and bend forward from the waist into "Hand to Foot" (Hasta Padasana) pose.

* Inhale, moving into "Equestrian" (Ashwa Sanchalanasana) and then "Stick" (Dandasana) pose.

* Exhale, moving into a "Salute with Eight Parts" (Ashtanga Namaskara) pose. Your two hands, two feet, two knees, chest, and chin should touch the ground.

* Inhale, moving into a "Cobra" (Bhujangasana) pose.

* Exhale, lifting up into a "Downward dog" (Adho Mukha Svanasana) pose.

* Inhale, moving back into "Equestrian" (Ashwa Sanchalanasana) pose.

* Exhale, moving back into "Hand to Foot" (Hasta Padasana) pose.

* Inhale, lifting your arms back into "Raised Arms" (Hastauttanasana) pose.

* Exhale, bringing the arms down into a relaxed (Tadasana) pose.
