Stoic fasting
Fast with discipline and clarity
Stoic Virtue
Use Stoic and Hellenic teachings to stay strong, wise, and calm, learning to control what you can, accept what you can’t, and always act with honor.
Stoic fasting techniques were typically done as a way of building inner fortitude, so that when life inevitably got tough, the mind and body were already prepared.
During a fast, participants would typically avoid consuming any food from sunrise to sunset, only drinking water. In that way, fasting would be a reminder of what is necessary, where you refrain from excess, and observe how little is truly needed for contentment.
Of course, make sure you consult your physician before beginning any new fasting routine to ensure that it is suitable for you.
