"Strict" Fast
Embrace purity and discipline through fasting
Eastern Orthodox
A deep, ancient form of Christianity with sacred traditions, icons, and prayers that bring people closer to God and their spiritual community.
In Christian tradition, fasts like this are often seen as an act of devotion to God - a way to treat the human body as a temple that must be kept holy (1 Corinthians 6:19–20).
In this type of fast you only consume bread and water from sunrise to sunset. This is the most austere types of Christian fasts, and is most commonly observed during the Lent period leading up to Easter and on other important days in the Christian calendar.
Of course, make sure you consult your physician before beginning any new fasting routine to ensure that it is suitable for you.
