In Christian tradition, fasts like this are often seen as an act of devotion to God - a way to treat the human body as a temple that must be kept holy (1 Corinthians 6:19–20).

In this type of fast, from sunrise to sunset you avoid consuming Meat, Dairy products, and Eggs. Consuming fish, oil and wine are still allowed.

Of course, make sure you consult your physician before beginning any new fasting routine to ensure that it is suitable for you.
