The Tai Chi "White Crane" move
Use your body to foster greater clarity and resolve
Daoism & Qi
Let nature, balance, and harmony guide the way as you seek to flow with the universe, live simply, and attain inner peace.
This exercise is believed to reinforce the Metal element in the body which helps to promote strength and clarity. It is also believed to be particularly beneficial for the Lungs.
To do it, start in a relaxed standing position with you knees slightly bent. Take a small step to your left, keeping your left foot on its tip-toes. While you step, slowly sweep your right hand up above your head and extend your left hand in front of you, palm up. Then repeat this motion to the other side.
While Tai Chi is a low-intensity martial art that can help boost your life force or "Qi", this and other movements are best learned under the guidance of a qualified instructor.
