Buddhist hand gestures or "mudras" are often used in meditation to influence your physical, mental, and emotional state.

The "abhayamudra" was used by the Buddha himself, and is meant to improve concentration, alleviate fear, and boost confidence.

To do it, raise your right hand with your fingers pointing upwards. Try to hold this position for a few minutes.
