Vipassanā or "insight" meditation in the Theraveda Buddhist tradition is intended to enable you to see, explore and discern the true nature of reality.

This meditation technique involves you actively taking note of everything that you feel and that happens to you while you are meditating. Beginner forms of this meditation involve taking note of different sensations or thoughts you are having, while advanced forms can involve developing deep insight into the inner workings of your mind.
